We flew from Catania, Sicily to Rome and spent the night in Ostia - once the harbor city of Ancient Rome, and now an archaeological site. (near Fuminico Airport making it an easy hop for our flights home) Ostia is a derivation of "os", the Latin word for "mouth". (At the mouth of Tiber River)
Comparable to Pompeii ruins - a work in progress worth a visit and NOT CROWDED!
