Santa Fe, Taos, Angel Fire, Roswell, New Mexico - 3/1 - 3/6/2020


 Driving to Sante Fe, New Mexico

Road leading to the Plaza. Be sure to take a ride/walk to Canyon Road - full of all kinds of art galleries and numerous sculptures outside of the shops

We visited the Georgia O’Keefe Museum - a must see!

 Chapel best known for its’ spiral staircase


San Miguel Church - Oldest church structure in the U.S.  Original adobe walls and altar were built by the Tlaxacan Indians of Mexico in the 1600’s

 A converted bowling alley that has all kinds of crazy rooms with walkways going from the refrigerator and a slide down the washing machine which you have to crawl into.   Too bad I’m too old to do all that stuff!

Next stop, Roswell, New Mexico - International UFO Museum 



Maddy loved all the UFO themed sites!

 Driving thru Dallas to the airport - the end of a very nice trip!  We were very pleased that there were no crowds at all the sites we visited!

White Sands National Park & Albuquerque - Saturday, 2/29/20

Amazing Park!  

 Road driving into the park is 8 miles long where you can stop in various locations

 Nice walkway should you not want to hike on the gypsum sand

 Constantly evolving scenery because of the weather

 Dunes are not as high as ours in Michigan, but so beautiful they look like snow

 Area where you can enjoy a picnic lunch

Or sliding down the dunes in saucers!

 The park is 245 square miles with lots of hiking trails

 Full of shops and restaurants 



Presidio & El Paso - Thursday & Friday, 2/27 &2/28


 Drive from Lajitas to Presido is a must!

 Beautiful road with gorgeous scenery









We visited Fort Bliss in El Paso. Maddy’s grandfather served in the army here around 1910.
Fort Bliss is a city within the city of El Paso - has theaters, post office, schools, hotels, housing, museum, churches...... I’ve never seen such a complex.

Lots of old war vehicles in the museum.  This was an actual German cycle used in WWII
