Main Street in the town of quirky Marfa
We ate lunch at Jetts Grill in The Hotel Paisano, a quaint place worth a visit. Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson, and James Dean put Marfa on the map when they starred in the movie, Giant, in 1956. They stayed at the hotel during the filming.
We stayed in Alpine, Texas to visit the McDonald Observatory.

Huge telescope - Very surprising to learn and see the dome of the observatory move to provide the viewing area for the telescope (and it’s moved by 1-1/2 horse power motor)
