Driving from Almaty to Lake Issyk-Kul we crossed the border into Kyrgystan and see work on the “One Belt One Road” initiative funded by China
Our group of 12 were fortunate to have this spacious bus for our travels thru Kyrgystan driven by Sergei

Lake Isslyk-Kul (means “warm lake”) it never freezes
Beautiful & clear, it is the second largest salt lake after the Caspian Sea which is really a lake
Lake and resort both have the Ten Shen Mountains as a beautiful background
Resort has over 200 homes, condos and rooms.

A visit to a Muslim Cemetary - Muslims do not maintain grave sites. They believe growth around the site is beneficial to the departed

Women are not allowed at the gravesite until 40 days after burial, during the interim they hold 3 wakes for family & friends to visit to pay respect
